CHRISTOPHER “C-Murder” DAVIS SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS FOR BAPTIST TOWN SHOOTINGS
Greenwood, MS – District Attorney W. Dewayne Richardson announced today that Christopher “C-Murder” Davis, 42 yoa, pled guilty to two counts of Aggravated Assault in Leflore County Circuit Court this week as a jury sat ready to hear his case at trial.
Davis pled guilty to shooting two individuals with an assault rifle on Young Street in the Baptist Town community on August 12, 2019. Although they both were shot and wounded, the victims survived the shooting. The senseless act of violence occurred in broad daylight in close proximity to McKinney Baptist Church. After an extensive investigation, the Greenwood Police Department was able to name and arrest Christopher “C-Murder” Davis as the suspect to these shootings.
Senior Circuit Court Judge Ashley Hines sentenced Davis to a total of 25 years to serve in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections for his crimes. The case against Christopher Davis was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Stanley Alexander and Amanda Sturniolo-Langford.
The Office of the District Attorney appreciates the diligence and hard work of Edgar Gibson who was the lead investigator on this case as well as Chief Terrence Craft and his entire staff for making sure that another violent criminal is removed from the streets of Greenwood and Leflore County.
