Greenville, MS – Gregory Carr pled guilty this week to multiple charges in Washington County Circuit Court, District Attorney Dewayne Richardson announced today.

Gregory Carr, 51 yoa, pled guilty this week and admitted his involvement in 3 different automobile burglary offenses and one count of Aggravated Assault that occurred in Washington County.  Carr had been indicted by different grand juries for these crimes. The Aggravated Assault charge stemmed from Carr breaking into a automobile on Clover Circle and attempting to run over the property owner when he was caught attempting to flee the scene in July 2013. The other auto burglary charges occurred during the summer of 2014 after Carr was released on bond for the 2013 charge.

Gregory Carr was scheduled to stand trial next Tuesday but he opted to admit his guilt and he pled guilty this week. Upon entering his pleas of guilty, Gregory Carr was sentenced to the state’s recommendation of a total of 15 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of corrections to serve. Gregory Carr was ordered to serve the sentences for the Auto Burglary charges as a Habitual Offender.

Richardson added that, “the District Attorney’s office appreciates all the hard work of the Greenville Police Department and we hope to not see Gregory Carr terrorizing the property owners of Washington County for quite some time.”
