Robert Wilson sentenced to 10 years for Firearm Possession
Greenwood, MS – Robert Wilson pled guilty before Judge White-Richard for committing the crime of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon as a Habitual Offender in Leflore County Circuit Court, District Attorney Dewayne Richardson announced today.
Wilson was scheduled to stand trial this week but opted to plead guilty to his charges. In this case, Wilson was indicted by the January 2015 Grand Jury for possessing a firearm when officers with the Greenwood Police Department arrested him for an outstanding warrant on October 18, 2014. Robert Wilson had at least two prior felony convictions at the time of him being arrested. Wilson also pled guilty to being a Habitual Offender and as a result he will have to serve every day of his sentence without the opportunity for early release or parole.
Judge White-Richard sentenced Wilson to the District Attorney’s recommendation of 10 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections to serve as a habitual offender.
