John Herzog Jr. is an Assistant District Attorney for the Fourth District, based in Greenville. John tries cases throughout the District and has served as a special prosecutor in Adams County.

He graduated from the University of Mississippi as a member of the history and political science honor societies. John graduated cum laude from the University Of Mississippi School Of Law, earning a Criminal Law Certificate with an honors distinction.  

John is a graduate of the Mississippi Bar’s Leadership Forum and a past Chair of the Mississippi Bar’s Prosecutors Section. John was elected to serve as President of the Mississippi Prosecutors Association and continues to serve on the Board. He is licensed to practice law in Mississippi, Tennessee and Georgia.
