Lakendrick Lee pleads guilty for killing Quintarius Givens
Greenville, MS – In Washington County Circuit Court, Lakendrick Lee, 31 yoa, pled guilty to killing Quintarius Givens on July 3, 2015, District Attorney Dewayne Richardson announced today.
On July 3, 2015, Quintarius Givens was found shot multiple times outside of his home on Old Leland Road at about 10 a.m. here in Greenville, MS. Officers with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded to 2588 Old Leland Road, Lot 21 where Quintarius Givens was located and pronounced dead on scene. After a thorough investigation, Lakendrick Lee was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder for Givens death.
On today, Lee pled guilty to the crime of Second Degree Murder for his actions and admitted to shooting and killing Givens. Assistant District Attorney Kaylon McCou announced to the court the concerns of the victim’s family and requested that Lee be sentenced according to the State’s recommendation so that the family could have closure and begin the healing process. Judge Margaret Carey-McCray sentenced Lee to the District Attorney Office’s recommendation of 35 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Lakendrick Lee will serve 30 years in prison without any opportunity for early release or parole. After his release, Lee will then be on probation for five years.
Richardson added that, “we thank the deputies and investigators with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department for their tireless efforts in ensuring that justice was in fact been served in this case.”
