SAVARDSON DURHNHAM PLEADS GUILTY TO MANSLAUGHER

Indianola, MS—Savardson Durnham, 25, of Indianola pled guilty to Manslaughter on Tuesday, per District Attorney Dewayne Richardson.

On September 22, 2020 officers of the Moorhead Police Department responded to the intersection of Pecan Circle and Birch Street in Moorhead, Mississippi where the victim Larry Logan had been physically assaulted. Witnesses identified Savardus Durnham, Logan’s neighbor, as being the one who assaulted Mr. Larry Logan by punching and kicking him. The 60-year-old Logan was rushed to the South Sunflower County Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Durnham was subsequently indicted by a Sunflower County grand jury. With his trial scheduled to proceed this week, the defendant pled guilty to the crime of Manslaughter which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Fourth Circuit Judge Richard Smith sentenced Savardus Durnham to the District Attorney’s Office’s recommendation of twenty (20) years to serve in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
